When it comes to price, binary triggers generally cost between $300 and $500. So not cheap, and that kind of cash can get you a lot of other accessories as well. Also, unless you practice a lot, an automatic trigger can be more of a drawback than a benefit in a home defense scenario.
BOTTOM LINE: The ATF has declared that FRTs are now subject to the GCA and NFA, and thus require the same tax, stamp, and paperwork as other NFA items such as SBRs or suppressors.
The ATF decided at its sole discretion that the FRT-15 was a machine gun. But Rare Breed Triggers claims that the FRT-15 is a completely legal semi-automatic trigger because the trigger has to be pulled for each bullet, so it`s still semi-automatic.

Can you bump fire with a binary trigger?
Adding a bump stock to a rifle equipped with a binary trigger would most likely cause malfunctions. The rifle simply wouldn't fire. The Franklin Arsenal binary trigger is meant to be run fast, but not too fast.
